Hitman: Blood Money (Xbox 360)

Hitman: Blood Money (Xbox 360)
In a nutshell:
Agent 47 is back in the game that finally does full justice to the Hitman concept, with huge improvements to the graphics, controls and, most importantly, the number of ways for you to plan your hits - from wading in guns blazing to making it all look like a simple accident.

The lowdown:
Although the Hitman games were always a great idea they never quite worked the way you expected, with an awkward control system and camera and far less freedom than it at first seemed. This latest sequel solves almost all these problems, starting with a standard third person camera over which you have full control. Although you can ask for hints on how to carry out a hit you’ve so many options the game’s almost like a macabre graphic adventure - do you use the remote detonated bomb on the chandelier winch in the ballroom or plug the secretary’s Coke with poison and hide in the cupboard? The new notoriety system seems a bit pointless but otherwise this gets almost everything right.

Most exciting moment:
The game features tons of new additions like grabbing human shields, a quick draw for your gun and the ability to hide bodies. The most fun though is the simple sounding push option, which allows you to sneak up behind someone and send them flying off a balcony by “accident”.

Since you ask:
Blood Money includes various references to previous Hitman games, the most prominent being the Paris mission in an Opera house, which acts as a prequel to Hitman: Contracts.

The bottom line:
The best Hitman game yet, that makes a real effort to fix the flaws of the previous games.

Customer Review: the world shall kneel !!!!!!!!!!
i have just got this game and it is the best game i have played on there is nothing that you can’t do you can get human shields, take uniforms, push people off cliffs to make it look like suicide and people do not just collapse on the floor when you kill them.the only thing that needs improving is that there is not enough of it there are fourteen levels and considering the length is more than substantial but all outstanding games cand be improved by making it longer.

Customer Review: A great sequel from a great series
Sadly, it shows that it is a last gen port. The graphics range from PS2 standard to excellent. Fortunately the gameplay is still excellent regardless of the games graphical standards. It doesn’t deviate much from the previous installments, so fans will knowwhat to expect.

Customer Review: Cheaper, but noticeably worse than the official controller.
I wanted an extra controller for when playing with buddies at home. Since this only happens occasionally, I didn’t want to spend more money than necessary. For the purpose of this review I will compare with the official controller. Overall feel and design - sits well in my hands, and feels comfortable in general. I don’t like the placement of the back/start buttons though, as it feels a bit awkward reaching them. Still, there is less risk of pressing them by accident like this. Buttons - feel a bit hard, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I suspect that button-mashing games will make your fingers hurt though. Sensitivy is on par with the official controller. D-pad - this actually feels more precise. I always had a wee bit of problems with the official D-pad, and especially the diagonals feel imprecise. This one’s better, and should be good for fighting games. Triggers - firmer and with more resistance than the official controller. Neither better nor worse for any practical purpose. With driving games I actually think it’s easier to maintain exactly the right level of acceleration. If you need to repeatedly press the triggers fast, they can feel a little too tough. Analog sticks - these feel flip-floppy, imprecise, and not that analog. They are too soft, and movement often becomes all-or-nothing. On shooters this can be compensated by turning overall sensitivity down, and it’s ok. But play any game which recquires precise sequences of movements (trick games, driving, FNR3) and it becomes a major pain. It is a noticeable handicap playing with this controller, which is not how I want my coop or vs games at home. Conclusions - if a good D-pad is crucial for you, to the point of not caring that much about the sticks, buy it at good value. Otherwise, wait until you can afford a better controller, or you will regret your buy like I did.
Customer Review: Do not buy!
after my friend got his 360 we put our cash 2gether to buy a cheap controller and we brought this. what a mistake, the anaolog sticks are way to sensitive and are not accuarate, the sticks feel very delayed and are a pain when playing driving games as your constantly trying to keep your car in line. The trigger were very tough too but im guessing thats because it was new. the 360 button did work and all the player lights were correct. Buy the official controller's! its worth the extra cash trust me!

Company of Heroes (Incl. Dawn of War: Game of the Year Edition) (PC) World War II needs winning again but this time you’re not going it alone as you take command of Able Company in this innovative real-time strategy that sees you battling through the D-Day landings and the liberation of Europe.

The lowdown:
Real-time strategies have been stuck in a rut in recent years but this game doesn’t just offer a change in scenery. It goes out of its way to reduce the amount of micromanagement, with troops that can be trusted to act sensibly when under fire and don’t need you to tell them to duck when a shell comes their way. As you’d expect there’s no mining of resources, but instead you have to expand your territory via control points to get more men and resources. Stockpiling fuel, munitions and manpower allows you to bring in more specialised units but to keep a sense of realism everything needs a lot more time and effort to build than in the average real-time strategy. With a surprisingly subtle mix between the needs of realism and gameplay this is the freshest new strategy game for years.

Most exciting moment:
Graphically this is one of the most impressive real-time strategy games ever seen, but what really impresses is the artificial intelligence, both of your troops and the enemy. Soldiers on both sides will take cover without being asked and the enemy will constantly try to outflank and outgun you.

Since you ask:
Company of Heroes is the first game to use developer Relic’s “Essence Engine”. It features many special effects usually only seen in first person shooters such as HDR (high dynamic range) lighting and the Havok 3 physic engine.

The bottom line:
Bored of WWII games and real-time strategies? This makes both seem exciting again. HARRISON DENT
Customer Review: suckathon
Here’s the deal. This game looks great, it’s really new and shiny, and that’s great for stoners, but not gamers.

I am an old school gamer, having gamed seriously for 17 years now. I’m a nerd i know, and that’s exactly what makes me qualified to say this: this game is a bunch of hype, it sucks.

This game has nothing to do with war strategy, it’s only redeeming quality is that there is some ok A.I. as far as troop management. Otherwise, this game is ridiculous, unclear, too fast paced, and poorly concieved.

I am good at war strategy games and have been playing classics like Starcraft and Command and Conquer forever. This game is not a war strategy game, it is simply a game of how fast you can either follow a formulaic strategy that the game demands, or how fast you can point and click in a desperate bid to outclass an impossibly constant enemy.

p.s. the tanks are retarded.
Customer Review: The best Real Time Strategy of all time?
These words can’t make you buy the game, they can only reason to the hardcore gamer inside you. Did you ever like Dune 2? Command and Conquer the original? Starcraft? remember the feelings you had from playing those games of the golden era? This is one of those games, a defining benchmark for all future RTS games to aspire to. This is a game that can take you as deep into it as you want to go. Don’t want to learn about the use of cover or combined arms for your troops? play the AI on easy: the game will look great (depending on your PC) and you`ll have fun destroying the map, infantry and vehicles or being destroyed yourself. If you are looking for something which equates to an ever-evolving version of battlefield chess then look no further. Mind pitted against mind, experience against experience and no situation ever the same. For the first time the intelligent commander succeeds not the commander who can click their mouse faster. You`ll be defeated by the AI to start with, then once you overcome the singleplayer and skirmish you`ll get defeated online but it will make those future hard fought victories against human opponents the sweetest of any RTS game you have ever played.
This is the best Real Time Strategy of all time. Are you ready for it?
