Customer Review: Bigger than it needs to be..
I use my xbox to watch alot of media stored on my computer. Every time i wanted to pause something I found that my wireless controll had gone into power save and I coulndt reallyt undeerstand what the buttons were supposed to do.. The media remote has changed all that. I dont use any of its extra functions like programmed it to my TV so I find the remote a bit bigger than it needs to be, and its a bit annoying because you need to point it directly at the xbox 360 to get it to work. (my other telly remotes seem to work as long as you ponint them in th egeneral direction of the telly.) Good bit of kit if you watch media, or use your xbox for doing more than just “games”
Customer Review: Little niggles spoil the fun
While well made and totally functional, the additional feature of basic TV controls is badly implemented. Numerical codes can be entered into the handset to make it work MOST TVs. The instructions say that the codes are available on the XBox website… If you can find them, you’re a better man than me. The alternative is to trawl through a series of “off” commands by pressing the up or down channel buttons, which is more luck than judgement. Once you’ve got it working, it does its job extremely well… but getting it working is a pain. If you just want remote DVD controls, go for one of the cheaper 3rd party remotes.

Block Entertainment ™ - Xbox 360 - Play & Charge Kit

Just Cause (Xbox 360) In a nutshell:
Grand Theft Auto might give you the freedom of a whole city or county but in Just Cause you’ve got the task of overthrowing a 250,000 acre island all on your lonesome in the world’s first Che Guevara simulator.

The lowdown:
Taking inspiration not just from Grand Theft Auto but also Mercenaries and old Amiga classic Midwinter you play CIA black ops agent Rico Rodriguez as he attempts to overthrow the evil dictator of the fictional island of San Esperito. Despite the huge island and the complete freedom of movement you have on it the game actually only has 21 story missions. There are over 300 side missions but it quickly becomes obvious that these fall into only a very small number of different styles, not all of which are all that entertaining. What makes the game fun though is just wandering off and doing your own thing, which invariably involves upsetting the local military or drug lords and instigating a massive, impromptu firefight. The game may lack depth and variety but it offers a freedom to explore and cause chaos that few others can rival.

Most exciting moment:
As impractical as it may seem you’ve always got a grappling hook and a parachute, which allows you to lock onto any vehicle and commandeer it whenever you want. It also lets you perform some utterly outrageous stunts as you parasail behind boats and jump from a moving aircraft straight onto a road convoy miles below you.

Since you ask:
Instead of storing the island of San Esperito as a gigantic map the game uses a new technique called procedural synthesis to create the landscape on the fly. This is the only way to make such large scale graphics work on the PS2, especially when you’re flying miles above the island.

The bottom line:
Che Guevara meets James Bond in this shallow but satisfying sandbox game.

Customer Review: big game, big fun
I first got this game when it came out and got it as part of my xbox 360 package. Although I liked the game I decided to trade the game in after 2 weeks as I only had this and PGR3, I really wanted TDU at that time. Then after about 5 games later I started to get cravings for Just cause after seeing various reviews etc on it and decided to buy it back for ?18. Now that I fully understand the gamer points system and have got used to the xbox 360 controls properly I have found the game a lot better than the first time I played it.
I decided to take my time and not just fly through all the missions, this makes the game a lot more fun as you discover hidden volcano’s and varous citys and settlements etc.
The graphics are very good and you easily get sucked into the beauty of the landscape (you can almost feel the warmth of the sun and sea etc). Every time I play it I find new stuff to do, new vehicles to use from cars boats and planes. The weather changes as you fly around the island and you can be blown about abit during storms adding to the adventure, this list just goes on and on. You have to play it a bit differently from GTA games in that some of the cars are easy to loose control of but then when you do have an accident the police are fun to defeat and also good fun to run from.
On the down side there are a few glitches and the cars are not in top detail compared with the scenery. But this is a small price to pay for such a big game and hardly ever spoil any fun.
In reflection I think that this game for the money it can now bought for is a bargin and I’m pleased to have it back in my collection once again
Customer Review: Fun for a day
For the first day or so, it is quite entertaining, just being able to freely fly, drive or parachute around but after a while it gets really boring because all the cars are old bangers and the map is basically just trees so its the same everywhere and also the missions are all pretty much the same dispite it saying theres side missions, main missions and liberations which are all the same. a really annoying thing is the way he runs which is really spastic and he is constantly wheezing and his highj heels are always clicking its really annoying after a while. The game is really un realistic such as you being able to jump out of a helicopter or a plane at the highest point and hold on to the back of it, steer it while out there then jumping forward and landing inside it again!!!!!

I say don’t buy it its poor quality. also take a look at how many are up the for sale (35 when i last looked) and you should take a hint from that

Football Manager 2006 (Xbox 360) Customer Review: FOOTBALL MANAGER ON THE 360
This is the first football management on the XBOX 360 and takes the successful Football Manager franchise off the PC straight onto your XBOX 360 console.

It takes a while getting used to the controls on this game with all the buttons having a function. This is unlike the PC version where the controls are easy to use.

Apart from that you have all the leagues in here […] and you can choose who to manage to success. The huge database gives you the opportunity to learn about so many football players from all over the world and most of the players have a photograph with them.

There is also an online mode to this game which gives you a chance to play cups and leagues online with any team in the game. However after each cup or league is finished the lobby is split up and you are returned to the main menu making it difficult to build a rapport with your fellow players.

The XBOX 360 achievements are well-thought out with a few easier ones (like win a match) to more difficult ones for the most dedicated of gamers (complete 20 seasons with 1 club). This is a challenge which you want from a game.

However the game does drag on unlike the PC version. So in summary if you want this game you may want to consider getting it for the PC.
Customer Review: Not like the PC version
The ‘Football Manager’ series was born out of the old ‘Championship Manager’ series from before Eidos took it over. These were widely regarded as the most realistic football management simulators on the market. I bought the 2005 version for the PC and played it for almost a year before getting a little tired of it. During that time I didn’t play any other games because I was so hooked by it. Eventually I bought an Xbox 360 and thought I’d get ‘Football Manager 2006′ to play on it, expecting a quicker, larger and updated game.

It has been updated to include all of the most recent transfers (up to September 05), but that is the only part in which my expectations were met.

The game database seems a lot smaller. This could be due to only being able to have 10 leagues running at once. Thet’s 10 DIVISIONS, not 10 countries’ full league system. If you want to have all of the English leagues running you have taken up seven divisions, leaving you only three more.

The idea behind this was to keep the game processing speed up so that the people who only play it on a console don’t get bored. However, it still seems slow at times.

The controlls are very fiddly. In the PC versions all of the options available to you are shown at the same time on screen, in the Xbox 360 version you are constantly pressing the shoulder buttons to get to the information you require. Even when doing this it is easy to miss the thing you were looking for, e.g. I couldn’t work out how to make substitutions at half-time for ages. If you could just use a mouse it would be so much easier, but you can’t. A cursor on screen would be easier and less time consuming than having to scroll through every line of text to reach the item you want.

Graphics and sound are minimal, but the simplicity is what made the games so appealing in the first place, so I won’t knock them. For the part, they do their job well, unless you don’t own a high definition screen. If you are playing on standard definition then text becomes difficult to make out, colours run into one another and it just becomes a horrible mess.

Online play is painstakingly slow paced and when I played online I met the most hostile group of people I ever have in an online game. They don’t like it if you play your strongest team, but they don’t like it when you do something a little experimental with your formation. You won’t make any friends with this game.

Achievements reward loyalty and experience, with some only earning you a meagre 1 Gamerscore (Buy a Player). There are 50 Achievements in all.

If you have a decent PC then get this game for that. Manegement games rarely work as well on consoles and this one is no exception.
