Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (Xbox 360)
In a nutshell:
The surprise hit of 2005 is back and this time it’s moved on from the prequels and onto “proper” Star Wars. It may sound like one of the worst excesses of marketing hell but this is good enough to rejuvenate your love for both video games and Star Wars (and Lego)!

The lowdown:
As ridiculous as the idea sounds this is one of the few games that really can be played by all ages, from tots to grandparents - the game even adjusts its difficultly level on the fly depending how well you’re doing. The graphics are absolutely hilarious as the game pokes gentle fun at all the films and characters and uses the Lego motif so you can build new structures and objects as you go. With more playable characters than ever each now has their own special move, such as Chewbacca’s ability to pull the arms off Stormtroopers, and you can get in and out of vehicles whenever you want in some levels.

Most exciting moment:
The game features a large number of vehicles to drive, including landspeeders and AT-STs. You can also ride a Dewback which excretes an ominous looking brown Lego stud if you press a button…

Since you ask:
The all important two player co-op mode from the first game is still in the sequel, plus you can now design your own characters out of component Lego pieces. Darth Greedo, anyone?

The bottom line:
The Force is strong with this one.

Customer Review: Superb fun
As a boy growing up in the 80’s star wars was a huge part of my life and this was the decade when the toys associated with the film really took off. Sadly, star wars toys made of Lego were 20 years away and now, as a 30 year old, trying to persuade my wife that buying Lego is a good idea is just not happening. Thankfully the genius’s at Lego and Lucas arts have come up with this cracker of a game which I can just about get away with buying. The premise is simple in that it follows the last three films (or first 3 depending on your age!!) and you are taken through virtually every major set piece, in each film, playing as various Lego/star wars characters. The learning curve is perfect for both kids and adults alike. The cut scenes in between each level are hilarious. My first play of the game was with the “help” of an 8 and a 6 year old and we all spent most of the time in hysterics. The animation is superb and the controls are very cleverly done. Just push gently on the left stick and watching the characters “creeping” is very funny. This is a game which provides excellent family entertainment and really fits the category of “suitable for all ages”. If you are a fan of the first Lego star wars game then this comes highly recommended.

Customer Review: Fun to play…Incredibly Frustrating To Save!
I like this game a lot. It’s a laugh to play as you go through the various famous Star Wars scenes and stuff as a Lego character (the Lego Boombox that blasts out a heavy metal version of the Imperial March, making Gamorrean guards rock out is one of the best things I’ve seen!) However, I find trying to save your progress in this game EXTREMELY frustrating! For some reason when you clear a chapter and your autosave kicks in, it doesn’t save your progress properly and you end up right back at the Mos Eisley cantina when you reload your game. Not cool.

I plan to keep playing this game and figure out what’s going wrong, but that in itself is something no gamer should have to do. In short, great game, LOUSY saving system!

The review by “Mr. S. A. Brown “yentilsale1″ sums it up for me as I have just had the same problems. Why cant Microsoft do the decent thing and make a simple way of cancelling your membership via the console. You start your subscription this way, so why cant you cancel it this way!? Apparently, its for security and information reasons!! What a load of rubbish!! Blizzard are able to do all of this with World of Warcraft on the internet through your own personal account. Microsoft, sort your public image out, its all an excuse to take money from people who forget to cancel their memberships. Shame on you!

Xbox Live is definitely worth ?40 a year; providing you don’t get unlucky like me and go to pull the card out of the box only for the sticky substance holding it in place to rip half the chuffing code off rendering the whole thing completely useless. Ring Microsoft support up to try and get some help deciphering it and they they tell me to ring Microsoft in person? But they don’t know the number so how am I supposed to do that? Email them? Customer Review: Broken after a month and a half…
I first bought this product as a replacement for my wired xbox 360 headset (which is also broken), and at first it was a life-saver, the sound was clear, controlling it was easy and the battery lasted hours of gameplay. But then after a month the problems started, the headset began cutting out, just turning off in the middle of matches, and then finally it just died, the charging wouldn’t work, so I am currently preparing to send it back to amazon to amazon in hope of a replacement. There ae also numerous problems many people have had with this headset, just check the xbox forums.

It really is amazing how much more comfortable this is. I was chatting with a mate for half an hour and when I took the wired headset off my left ear was aching all day. Clip this on and it’s great! You don’t have to take it off to go to the kitchen or anywhere else and it’s cool letting a friend talk while you play without fumbling and having to set right beside them. You remember when you first got a wireless controller and whenever anyone walked in front you would move it to stop it snagging when you didn’t need to? It feels just like that. Unfortunately my friend trod on mine in a huge hiking boot, but it does mean I can get the Halo 3 one!

Customer Review: An Essential Piece of 360 Kit
If you have wireless controllers for your Xbox 360, this is a must buy. The kit comprises a charger, mains cable and one rechargeable battery pack.

The charger can take two battery packs at any one time and will charge both in around four hours, or a single battery in about two hours. The battery pack lasts ages in your controller so charges shouldn’t be too frequent. There are status lights on the front indicating if the batteries are still charging or have finished.

Customer Review: Good but be careful!
I got this peice of kit for xmas and it works brilliantly. It charges full in about 1 hour and lasts for 25 hours of play which is ruddy good. Here comes the but, the battery pack has small metal strips to connect it to the charger and if you charge alot the metal strips where away and you cant charge anymore (like mine). Im going to try the play and charge kit as i dont have to take out the battery therefore wearing away the strips.

I’ve got the White 360 the new 1 with a HDMI port and i got the 120gb HDD free with it because it was on offer. I had the old 360 and now my new 1 matches the elite, you do need the 120gb now because with the december update on xbox live market place, it allows you to download games on to your 360. Such as classic arcade games eg Sonic, Street fighter now it lets you get xbox original like Halo 1, Fable and many more also now map packs are in the 1gb+ so you do need it. Also once you upgrade you DON’T need a transfer cable off Microsoft, you can just recover your gamertag and then once you’ve done that anything you bought off marketplace you can re-download on to your new HDD because it knows you have paid for the download. I bought things lke Shivering isles exp for Oblivion and when i went to it, it had a tick next to it that showed i already paid for it so got it again. I think this is brilliant and now PS3 has nothing on 360!!!

120 gigabyte will be great for all those demos, videos ect… off Xbox live. All that space will mean you do not have to delete some things to make room for other downloads now and again. Obviously do not buy this if you don’t have Xbox live. A normal 360 game takes up about 100mb of memory space, which is nothing realy. But don’t buy it yet. It has already come down by 20 pounds in the last few months and it will keep dropping if people just don’t buy it!!!!

Customer Review: XBOX 360 Controller Review for MS Windows
Like other reviewers, I was looking for a controller/gamepad for the PC. Having fumbled around with 3rd party products I found them to be useless. In the past I used an adaptor that would allow PS2 controllers to be used worked OK but the lack customisation was poor. Having installed the provided drivers the controller was identified by WinXP immediately, however by doing some research I installed the XBCD drivers (Google this term or look on wikipedia) and I was able to initiate the rumble feature (not supported by the Microsoft drivers in older games). I use this controller for Dirt, Sega, Nintendo and Winaue emulation - the pad works like a charm! However you do have to spend a few minutes setting up the controller. If your looking for a gamepad/controller this worth getting, will add a more interesting element to your PC game play. However I do prefer to stick to Keyboard and Mouse combo for FPS!!

The headset is brilliant. I am fed up of why it breaks though. My second one has just broken now for no reason. I can hear them but they cannot hear me. I would say the humor in this game is very funny, orignal fun jokes. The gameplay is frustrating, playing the same part over and over again. The camera is awful. It hard to recommend this game, the humor is good but i was finding myself too annoyed with the game to enjoy it.

NBA Live 07 (Xbox 360) Customer Review: The best yet
Although Basketball is nowhere near as popular in the UK as it is in the States, this game is a must. The overall gameplay and presentation on the XBox 360 is a big step up from previous EA Sports offering on other consoles.
Graphics are superb, but HDTV (which I don’t have) must be even better. All the usual EA Sports extras are there and their presentation is first class making this game a must have.
The crowd reactions at crucial points of the game are a great touch and give the game added realism. Controls are easy to grasp and even if you are not knowledgeable on the sport its easy to get buy.
If you like sports game and have a few quid to spare then get this game. One of the best sports sims I have ever played. Only bad point is it will take you an age to get to grips with the slam dunk comp.

Customer Review: The “King” of all wrestling games is here!
What a great wrestling game! Now I’m not saying its a perfect game…. it certainly has one or two stupid bugs but this game has so much to offer. Whether or not you are a wrestling fan this game has a lot to make it attractive for several weeks off hard playing. Firstly the roster of stars is great and it is a nice touch that you can “unlock” legendary stars such as Hulk Hogan, The Rock etc. Also you can create your own superstar and this is fantastic, everything from height, weight, skin tone, tattoos and much more can go into making you superstar with of course their own special set of wrestling moves. With fight experience your superstar improves and will eventually challenge for a title match! The fights themselves are very varied with at least 12 - 16 match types, wrestlers having different styles, strenghts and weaknesses. The moves will take some time to master but then this makes the game more enjoyable and challenging. The season mode is fun if limited and is a good way to get involved in the “story side” of wrestling. It is also a greta way of improving your wrestling skills. Although the story is pretty simple it is still entertaining. If you like wrestling then this game will knock you down and pin you for a three count!

Customer Review: Great console but unreliable!
Yes there are lots of brilliant games for the 360 and the graphics are amazing but 6-12 months after you buy the chances are that you will get an “overheating” problem and it will have to be sent back for repair. I would still recommend the 360 but it is a lot of hastle for a small problem that surely microsoft could have repaired on all newer consoles.
Customer Review: Right time for a few home truths
I have never written a review on amazon but feel inclined to do so because of the amount of pro PS3 rubbish that is being spewed out on here! I have owned the updated xbox 360 for quite some time now and have so far had no problems (this is a new version of the console - not the pro-pack so how can all these people who bought xbox’s in 2006 write a review about the new version ??) Put quite simply everything about is great - the controllers feel like they were built to last (unlike the PS3 ones!) and you dont have to buy a plug and charge kit - just get some rechargeable batteries (much cheaper!) the graphics make use of the Xbox’s complete graphic processing power (unlike the PS3 which essentially uses ported games (hence why they come out 5 months later then xbox versions!) I dont care if PS3 has blu-ray as there is no clear winner in the format wars and based on their previous exploits (Betamax, Minidisc and UMD) Sony’s HD format will most likely flop too. Hence why the Xbox is superior as you can buy the optional HD-DVD player…and if it loses the format war they will most likely make a blu-ray version available too. The online play (xbox live) is superior as ever and really puts Sony’s version to shame be under no illusions the xbox does what its meant to do very well. The only slight annoyance is the cooling system which is way too loud - however this only effects game play - It is really quiet when DVDs are played. In short Its a great machine, good build quality and has a wide variety of games to choose from and unlike the PS3 isnt hedging all its bets on new technology

Neo Se Advanced Controller (Xbox 360) Customer Review: Cheaper, but noticeably worse than the official controller.
I wanted an extra controller for when playing with buddies at home. Since this only happens occasionally, I didn’t want to spend more money than necessary. For the purpose of this review I will compare with the official controller.

Overall feel and design - sits well in my hands, and feels comfortable in general. I don’t like the placement of the back/start buttons though, as it feels a bit awkward reaching them. Still, there is less risk of pressing them by accident like this.

Buttons - feel a bit hard, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I suspect that button-mashing games will make your fingers hurt though. Sensitivy is on par with the official controller.

D-pad - this actually feels more precise. I always had a wee bit of problems with the official D-pad, and especially the diagonals feel imprecise. This one’s better, and should be good for fighting games.

Triggers - firmer and with more resistance than the official controller. Neither better nor worse for any practical purpose. With driving games I actually think it’s easier to maintain exactly the right level of acceleration. If you need to repeatedly press the triggers fast, they can feel a little too tough.

Analog sticks - these feel flip-floppy, imprecise, and not that analog. They are too soft, and movement often becomes all-or-nothing. On shooters this can be compensated by turning overall sensitivity down, and it’s ok. Conclusions - if a good D-pad is crucial for you, to the point of not caring that much about the sticks, buy it at good value. Otherwise, wait until you can afford a better controller, or you will regret your buy like I did.

after my friend got his 360 we put our cash 2gether to buy a cheap controller and we brought this. what a mistake, the anaolog sticks are way to sensitive and are not accuarate, the sticks feel very delayed and are a pain when playing driving games as your constantly trying to keep your car in line.

The trigger were very tough too but im guessing thats because it was new. the 360 button did work and all the player lights were correct.

I got this peice of kit for xmas and it works brilliantly. It charges full in about 1 hour and lasts for 25 hours of play which is ruddy good. Here comes the but, the battery pack has small metal strips to connect it to the charger and if you charge alot the metal strips where away and you cant charge anymore (like mine). Im going to try the play and charge kit as i dont have to take out the battery therefore wearing away the strips.

Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (Xbox 360) In a nutshell:
The surprise hit of 2005 is back and this time it’s moved on from the prequels and onto “proper” Star Wars. It may sound like one of the worst excesses of marketing hell but this is good enough to rejuvenate your love for both video games and Star Wars (and Lego)!

The lowdown:
As ridiculous as the idea sounds this is one of the few games that really can be played by all ages, from tots to grandparents - the game even adjusts its difficultly level on the fly depending how well you’re doing. The graphics are absolutely hilarious as the game pokes gentle fun at all the films and characters and uses the Lego motif so you can build new structures and objects as you go. With more playable characters than ever each now has their own special move, such as Chewbacca’s ability to pull the arms off Stormtroopers, and you can get in and out of vehicles whenever you want in some levels.

Most exciting moment:
The game features a large number of vehicles to drive, including landspeeders and AT-STs. You can also ride a Dewback which excretes an ominous looking brown Lego stud if you press a button…

Since you ask:
The all important two player co-op mode from the first game is still in the sequel, plus you can now design your own characters out of component Lego pieces. Darth Greedo, anyone?

The bottom line:
The Force is strong with this one.

As a boy growing up in the 80’s star wars was a huge part of my life and this was the decade when the toys associated with the film really took off. Sadly, star wars toys made of Lego were 20 years away and now, as a 30 year old, trying to persuade my wife that buying Lego is a good idea is just not happening. Thankfully the genius’s at Lego and Lucas arts have come up with this cracker of a game which I can just about get away with buying. The premise is simple in that it follows the last three films (or first 3 depending on your age!!) and you are taken through virtually every major set piece, in each film, playing as various Lego/star wars characters. The learning curve is perfect for both kids and adults alike. The cut scenes in between each level are hilarious. My first play of the game was with the “help” of an 8 and a 6 year old and we all spent most of the time in hysterics. The animation is superb and the controls are very cleverly done. Just push gently on the left stick and watching the characters “creeping” is very funny. This is a game which provides excellent family entertainment and really fits the category of “suitable for all ages”. If you are a fan of the first Lego star wars game then this comes highly recommended.
Customer Review: Fun to play…Incredibly Frustrating To Save!
I like this game a lot. It’s a laugh to play as you go through the various famous Star Wars scenes and stuff as a Lego character (the Lego Boombox that blasts out a heavy metal version of the Imperial March, making Gamorrean guards rock out is one of the best things I’ve seen!) However, I find trying to save your progress in this game EXTREMELY frustrating! For some reason when you clear a chapter and your autosave kicks in, it doesn’t save your progress properly and you end up right back at the Mos Eisley cantina when you reload your game. Not cool.

I plan to keep playing this game and figure out what’s going wrong, but that in itself is something no gamer should have to do. In short, great game, LOUSY saving system!

Ok i bought this inter cooler and after 2 weeks three red lights. So i went online to see if i can fix it and alot of offers where you have to pay to download a online guide on how to fix your xbox 360 came up but i ignored them. Then I went on YOU TUBE and they show you a way where all you do is turn the xbox on wrap it with a bath towel two or three towels and leave it for 20 minutes then come back remove the towels and turn the xbox of for about 10 minutes to cool down then turn it back on and it should be working. I was so happy when this happened and decided to write this review. What it does is reset the chip in the xbox 360. So whenever the red lights of death come on i use that trick to fix it.

Customer Review: Little niggles spoil the fun
While well made and totally functional, the additional feature of basic TV controls is badly implemented. Numerical codes can be entered into the handset to make it work MOST TVs. The instructions say that the codes are available on the XBox website… If you can find them, you’re a better man than me. The alternative is to trawl through a series of “off” commands by pressing the up or down channel buttons, which is more luck than judgement. Once you’ve got it working, it does its job extremely well… but getting it working is a pain. If you just want remote DVD controls, go for one of the cheaper 3rd party remotes.

This remote is a slick piece of kit, and it’s very easy to use. However, having used it for a couple of days I am left wondering how essential it really is. Sure, I can navigate through TV channels and the XBox 360 at the touch of a button, but since it doesn’t have an AV button on there I still have to use my regular remote to get to the console screen in the first place (making the TV side of things pretty useless). If you are considering this item, you probably use your 360 as a DVD player on top of a games console. If this is you then I would recommend the product; it puts a stop to fiddling around with the controller and speeds up the whole process. This is especially useful for those with the HDDVD drive add-on (probably why they included it in the kit). The bottom line is that if you don’t watch DVDs on your console too often and can make do with the controller, then do so. If you’re a gadget freak like myself and want to make your life ever so slightly easier, then go for it.

I got this handset with my Elite xbox360. Its very comfortable as is the standard white one but looks much sleeker in my opinion. I can’t imagine it will show up the kids sticky finger prints as much as the other anyway. I find it so much easier having it wireless as well. I’m getting another and getting rid of the old wired ones as I have much more space now.

You start Evolution with all the bestial powers you gained in Instincts, including one hit kills and night vision, and as you’d expect the graphics have been given a serious overhaul - not just in terms of resolution but also the complexity and detail of everything in the game from enemy soldiers to the beautifully rolling sea.

Most exciting moment:
Taking out bad guys from your jet ski as you use it to jump ashore, run into the jungle, and quickly set-up a booby trap to stop pursuing bad guys.

The new single player campaign Evolution will also be made available for the Xbox as a budget priced stand alone expansion.

Customer Review: In parts can be the most fun xbox game I’ve played
Now, I had the Original Far Cry for the PC and that game was fantastic. Great gameplay, gorgeous environments and a large sense of freedom. First Person Shooters had always been about dark and gloomy factory corridors and other boring environments. It gave you fun gameplay in an environment that you’d naturally want to explore and play in regardless.

Skip to Far Cry Instincts: Predator. A port from the Original xbox game, as it failed to meet the backwards compatibility list. Taking the Far Cry core mechanics and adding a bunch of feral powers such as Extreme running, tracking by smell and a lethal claw attack. These additions can be huge amounts of fun both on/offline. The game includes the original Instincts storyline and adds a second story mode called evolution. This extends the life of the game and gives you quite a lot for your money.

The Online mode is pretty fun. Predator mode, where one person is a feral beast with all the powers against a group of helpless mercenaries. Included with depth map editor that can be a lot of fun to use online, aswell as the actual building.

To sum it up..

I loved the original Far Cry. This game doesn’t quite feel like the original, it loses something in the process. BUT it adds so much more and can be great fun just like the original. If you had the original xbox game, there isn’t enough here to have paid the full release price, but for a cheaper price is worth checking out. Are you a fan of FPS games? If so you owe it to yourself to play this game. It’s been a highly underrated xbox 360 title and I would advise anyone to make their own decision about it, rather than accepting some of the dire reviews.

Personnel opinion but this is a godawfull game, the AI is incredibly and stupid and the way the game plays is so ugly and repetitive. It would seem that the only thing going for it is the graphics which are very pretty but thats about it. Also playing the through the single player, the AI has the very annoying ability to always know exactly where you are, even hiding behind buildings and plantation

Would honestly save the money and buy dead rising or better yet splintercell (better graphics and more fun than this)

Customer Review: Cheaper, but noticeably worse than the official controller.
I wanted an extra controller for when playing with buddies at home. Since this only happens occasionally, I didn’t want to spend more money than necessary. For the purpose of this review I will compare with the official controller. Overall feel and design - sits well in my hands, and feels comfortable in general. I don’t like the placement of the back/start buttons though, as it feels a bit awkward reaching them. Still, there is less risk of pressing them by accident like this. Buttons - feel a bit hard, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I suspect that button-mashing games will make your fingers hurt though. Sensitivy is on par with the official controller. D-pad - this actually feels more precise. I always had a wee bit of problems with the official D-pad, and especially the diagonals feel imprecise. This one’s better, and should be good for fighting games. Triggers - firmer and with more resistance than the official controller. Neither better nor worse for any practical purpose. With driving games I actually think it’s easier to maintain exactly the right level of acceleration. If you need to repeatedly press the triggers fast, they can feel a little too tough. Analog sticks - these feel flip-floppy, imprecise, and not that analog. They are too soft, and movement often becomes all-or-nothing. On shooters this can be compensated by turning overall sensitivity down, and it’s ok. But play any game which recquires precise sequences of movements (trick games, driving, FNR3) and it becomes a major pain. It is a noticeable handicap playing with this controller, which is not how I want my coop or vs games at home. Conclusions - if a good D-pad is crucial for you, to the point of not caring that much about the sticks, buy it at good value. Otherwise, wait until you can afford a better controller, or you will regret your buy like I did.

after my friend got his 360 we put our cash 2gether to buy a cheap controller and we brought this. what a mistake, the anaolog sticks are way to sensitive and are not accuarate, the sticks feel very delayed and are a pain when playing driving games as your constantly trying to keep your car in line. The trigger were very tough too but im guessing thats because it was new. the 360 button did work and all the player lights were correct. Buy the official controller's! its worth the extra cash trust me!

Customer Review: Pretty good
It really is amazing how much more comfortable this is. I was chatting with a mate for half an hour and when I took the wired headset off my left ear was aching all day. Clip this on and it’s great! You don’t have to take it off to go to the kitchen or anywhere else and it’s cool letting a friend talk while you play without fumbling and having to set right beside them. You remember when you first got a wireless controller and whenever anyone walked in front you would move it to stop it snagging when you didn’t need to? It feels just like that.

Unfortunately my friend trod on mine in a huge hiking boot, but it does mean I can get the Halo 3 one!

Customer Review: Better than the normal headset!
I was wary about buying this headset seeing you get a free one with the xbox and I also had bought the camera which gives you another wired headset. But I bought it on recommendation from a friend. It’s very clear and crisp and the audio is so much better than the wired headset. I’ve toggled between using the two and the difference really is notable. And you can go quite far giving you the freedom to move about. And it’s more comfortable. The only annoying thing, as with all wireless equipment is the recharging but it the batteries do last quite a while. Definately worth buying.
