Xbox 360 HD DVD Player (Xbox 360)

Xbox 360 HD DVD Player (Xbox 360)
Customer Review: PAIRED WITH A 360 ELITE, THIS IS JUST AS GOOD AS A TOSHIBA HD-XE1 !
I got into HD movies with a Toshiba HD-XE1, which cost me ?450. Having just upgraded our original XBOX 360 to an Elite (mainly because, as a Vista Media Centre Extender, the Elite is MUCH quieter than the original 360), I couldn’t resist buying this 360 HD drive. Bottom Line? I’m selling the Tosh because I find the output of th XBOX HD drive is JUST AS GOOD, through either my Panasonic HD projector or Sharp HD TV. The pairing of this drive with the 360 Elite using HDMI to connect to a decent display is just perfect. This is a great Home Cinema solution, particularly as the Elite doesn’t sound like a jet engine as the old 360 did. I’m delighted!

Customer Review: HD made easy
Put simply, the hd add on for the 360 is great. Simply plug the player into a usb port on the console and install the disk. Comparing the price to an independant hd player makes the add on a superb buy, any 360 owner should seriously think about getting one. But, you will have to download updates from microsoft. Anyone not online will have to be prepared to have the odd dvd that won’t play.

U plug it in and it works that’s all u need to know. usb and is quite good for your money. good buy!
Customer Review: The best accessory for any 360 owner
This is absolute essential if you bought a premium pack or a wireless controller. Your 360 control pad will last 30 hours on fresh AA batteries but, what you don’t want, is to be in the middle of a battle on your favourite game only for a “Please reconnect controller” message to pop up. This simple cable completely removes the need to buy batteries ever again. Your on screen battery indicator (Guide blade) will tell you when your pad is running low then you simply plug one end of the cable into an available USB port on your console and the other in the top of the controller to recharge your battery whilst playing! Simply brilliant!

Need for Speed: Most Wanted (Xbox 360) Customer Review: Truly brilliant racing game.
NFS Most Wanted is a total success, because it manages to be exciting, addictive & this 360 version looks amazing. The city of Rockport is huge & it has a gritty & grimy look that’s very realistic.

The choice of cars is very extensive, & the career mode is the main part of the game where you work your way through, win races, earning money as you go & meeting new challengers in the game’s “blacklist”. I must also mention the movie scenes in between the races. These look absolutely superb & have real people in them, & not CGI characters !!

Finally, the police element in the game is wonderful. It’s huge fun to have the chance to make a getaway & have several police cruisers on your tail !!! Awesome.

A racing game that’s really special !!!
Customer Review: The best NFS for ages
Owning and completing this game on PS2 was a lotta fun so now owning a 360 I had to get it and play.
Let me start by saying I own both Carbon and Most wanted and most wanted is a far better game in every department.
For starters it the first one I can remember that actually races in the day allowing you to take in the beautiful graphics and overall design of the game.
The police chases A huge huge bonus they actaully make you feel tense as your wanted level goes up as you cause more chaos whilst racing.
The story is brilliant with hilarous FMV;s brilliantly cheesy and a lot of fun to watch. - Not sure if they where supposed to be comical to start with but by half they are cracking to watch.

The Cars themselves are good in number and choice, with the usual upgrade options on visuals/performance etc, with special limited parts becoming available as you win races from the main characters in the game.

An extra challenge series of some 50 set races allowing adds to the single player mode - but generally I would say getting all 100% will set you back 30+ hrs.
This is an excellent arcade racer for a good price that has an open play style of racing and the speed/panic it brings that only a few racers could hope for and in my view is only beaten by Burnour Revenge(at current time) as being king of the arcade racers.

very dissapointing end to the trilogy. it was never going to live up to the hype but the sheer level of dissapointment is a big loss. now don’t get me wrong it is a good fun game, but it is a lot worse than it could have been. the campaign is way too short. on legendary mode me and a mate did it in 5 hours! that is not good enough. the graphics are rather dissapointing and the online multiplayer is to. it is good fun online but with only 3 or 4 good maps you are left with little to do in terms of replay value. i don’t really reccoment this game unless you are a huge halo fan in which case you would already own the game.

Customer Review: Microsoft read my mind
Microsoft must be reading my mind. I have been moaning EVERY time I need to title a saved game image or type a message to a fellow gamer. I did use a USB keyboard for a bit, but it’s too awkward and takes too much space. This messenger kit keyboard is a work of art. I just held it in my hand for the first half hour marveling at the design. Once it’s fitted to the 360 controller it’s even better. It fits so well that you would believe it’s always been there. It is so easy to use, does not get in the way and it always there when you need it. No more excuses for leaving the default ambiguous names for files. I would buy another, but that would be just silly :)

NBA Live 07 (Xbox 360) Customer Review: The best yet
Although Basketball is nowhere near as popular in the UK as it is in the States, this game is a must. The overall gameplay and presentation on the XBox 360 is a big step up from previous EA Sports offering on other consoles.
Graphics are superb, but HDTV (which I don’t have) must be even better. All the usual EA Sports extras are there and their presentation is first class making this game a must have.
The crowd reactions at crucial points of the game are a great touch and give the game added realism. Controls are easy to grasp and even if you are not knowledgeable on the sport its easy to get buy.
If you like sports game and have a few quid to spare then get this game. One of the best sports sims I have ever played. Only bad point is it will take you an age to get to grips with the slam dunk comp.

Guitar Hero II with X-Plorer Guitar Controller (Xbox 360)
Customer Review: thinking about the whole price??
I bought this game on a impulse buy and it really paid off. being able to rock out to beauties like R.A.T.M - killing in the name and guns and rose - sweet child of mine. what you have to look at is the price is it really worth it?? the answer is always yes! how much does a new game cost these days? around 40 to 50 quid. so for a extra 30 on top you get the guitar aswell. if you can’t play the guitar for real this game will compensate for that. And guitar heroes 3 is almost out and that seems even better. buy now you wont be disappointed.

Customer Review: If I could give it 6 stars I would
This game is utterly utterly brilliant you MUST buy it!!! Totally addictive and throughly enjoyable. Get your mates round, get the beers in and ROCK ON!!!

Customer Review: what a rip
this is quite annoying for me as i just bought a nice big 47″ philips 1080p telly and now want some cables but lone behold to my shock i discover that seeing as i went and bought a 360 when it came out i dont have a hdmi port in mine this is a pain as i have two options now i can either a go and use the cables that came with it which dont work with my tv (no sound and wierd humming noise) or buy a new console something i really dont want to do as i quite like mine its never suffered the red ring of death and seeing as its one of the launch consoles thats rare microsoft dropped the ball on this and should atleast release a cable for those of use stuck with these early models that cost more!!!!!!
Customer Review: Good if you need one
I have just replaced my old Xbox 360 Premium with a new HDMI Xbox 360 Premium and so needed an HDMI cable to make this work. The HDMI ports are only on any new Xbox 360 (since late October roughly) as well as Elite and Halo editions. Any HDMI cable will work with your HDMI enabled Xbox, but this Xbox cable also has the extra audio output attachment if you want to send the sound through a separate amplifier. So if you have an HDMI enabled Xbox and you want to route your sound through an amplifier, then this is the only cable for you, if however you just want to have sound through your TV then get a cheaper cable without the added audio output, as HDMI sends sound too. To rate this cable low because it cant be attached to your Xbox is wrong. It’s a good quality cable, so long as you have the right kit to plug it into.

My example of this controller broke after 13 months because the headset connection appears to very flimsy and the central pin in the controller broke. Prey (Xbox 360)
In a nutshell:
Although it was announced more than a decade ago this demonstrates that the best things really do come to those that wait, with the most original and technically advanced first person shoot `em-up in years.

The lowdown:
Although it was conceived at a time when 3D graphics cards were still optional the basic idea behind the Prey portal technology is still the same as it ever was, allowing you to instantly step from one world to another in the game. You can even create the portals yourself as you battle grotesque enemy bosses in one area and jump back to another to recover. The game casts you as a Cherokee Indian with a number of magical powers such as spirit walking that let you explore the game world as a spirit, and deathwalk which replaces the normal need for intrusive quick saves with an innovative mini-game set between the worlds of the living and the dead.

Most exciting moment:
Not only is the portal technology amazing but the game’s use of gravity is equally inspired with gravity escalators that run up and across ceilings and some excellent zero gravity sections where you pilot spaceship pods and explore a tiny rotating planetoid.

Since you ask:
Originally intended only for the PC, the Xbox 360 version is being developed by British team Venom Games, who previously created Rocky Legends for Ubisoft, and features an 8 player multiplayer mode.

The bottom line:
Looks like being one of the top predators in the shoot `em-up world.

Customer Review: You get what you pay for.
So Ive played about half of the game and its far too dull to keep me engrossed. Theres nothing spectacular about this game I can think of that makes me want to play it anymore, if it wouldn’t cost me more too return it than the money I’d get back I would no longer own the title.
Customer Review: well worth the money
Before buying the game it might be a good idea to play the demo which is available at the XBox Live marketplace. Looks like many elements of the game are borrowed from science fiction movies dating back as far as ‘Dark Star’ (the bouncing beach ball in the movie). I think the story is nice and there is some surprising little puzzles in the game. If you like Scifi and saving the world from time to time then you should consider buying this game, I think it’s worth the money.

Customer Review: Handy For Backup Purposes, But Restricted And Too Small
The sole purpose of me buying these Memory Unit’s is one word, “Backup”. I always backup my saved data because if my consoles die or go out with a bang, I always have something small around me which has the backup data, and it helps me get back into business rather than starting from scratch! This Memory Unit is for the XBox 360 Console, it’s 64MB and it can store any type of data you acquire for backup. Because of it’s size though, you are quite limited to what you want to backup as certain retail games have saved data from about 1MB or even more. BioShock alone requires 15MB per saved game. The Orange Box is another game, which requires big data space, 10MB per saved game! Because of this reason I use the unit for games which are finished and have saved data which needs to be stored on a Memory Unit, as if for example I get the “3 Rings Of Death”, my data is safe from all that bad hassle (I’m not looking forward to getting that Ring Of Death). I’ve also discovered another little ordeal as well. If you own XBox Live on your console and you store backup data on the memory unit, you may not be able to transfer that data onto another console with another player who owns XBox Live. I tried giving my brother my Sonic The Hedgehog 1 data from my XBox 360 to his XBox 360 using the Memory Unit, but the console refused to perform that action! My Grade For The Device: 7/10: On The Ball, Down-But Not Out, OK My Wish: I wish the unit were bigger in size and the ability to transfer data from one console to another! Final Comments: Overall, if you own a few Retail or Arcade Games on the XBox 360 and require a small device for backup purposes, then look no further than this Memory Unit. If you need something bigger though, then I think you need to find another device or get 2 or more of these! Review By Captain Chris Kipper
Customer Review: What it does
The memory unit stores your gamesaves and ALSO stores your gamer profile. This means you can take it with you to a friend’s house. So if you travel a bit or even just play on someone else’s console, it’s really quick & easy to take your xbox live account with you. It’s quick to install. PS - If you’re struggling to work out how to transfer your account from the 360 to the memory unit, in the dashboard, go to System, then Memory, then choose Hard drive (if you have one). Click on the profile and the 360 will ask you if you want to move it!

Skate (Xbox 360) Customer Review: Underwhelming and Counterintuitive
Everything about this game just feels a bit wrong. I bought it yesterday and am trading it in for Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground tomorrow. The way in which you have to press a button to push for speed takes so long that by the time you get to where you want to do the trick you are not going fast enough so you have to scramble to get your thumb to the ‘flickit’ control and because it is so counter-intuitive and difficult to use you fall every time and if you miss on a run to an object you have to do a massive wheel to turn around, or a powerslide which makes you lose all your momentum meaning you have to build up speed again, causing the same problem. The camera angle is horrendous pointing from some point behind your knees so you can’t see where you are going. For any fans of THPS who thought about buying this instead of Proving Ground as an alternative, don’t it’s not worth the money.

Battery offers up to 25 hours of play per charge.
Includes charging stand for two batteries, one Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack, and a power cord.

Customer Review: An Essential Piece of 360 Kit
If you have wireless controllers for your Xbox 360, this is a must buy. The kit comprises a charger, mains cable and one rechargeable battery pack.

The charger can take two battery packs at any one time and will charge both in around four hours, or a single battery in about two hours. The battery pack lasts ages in your controller so charges shouldn’t be too frequent. There are status lights on the front indicating if the batteries are still charging or have finished.

There is also a separate Play & Charge Kit for the 360, which plugs your controller into the console’s USB port to charge the battery. All well and good, but it doesn’t charge as quickly and the cable defeats the object of having a wireless pad. For these reasons, the Quick Charge Kit is a better bet.

Extra battery packs cost about ?9-10 and are worth the investment. The whole set-up will pay for itself within a matter of weeks compared to the equivalent cost in AA alkaline batteries, so get one today!

Customer Review: Good but be careful!
I got this peice of kit for xmas and it works brilliantly. It charges full in about 1 hour and lasts for 25 hours of play which is ruddy good. Here comes the but, the battery pack has small metal strips to connect it to the charger and if you charge alot the metal strips where away and you cant charge anymore (like mine). Im going to try the play and charge kit as i dont have to take out the battery therefore wearing away the strips.

Customer Review: Insanely addictive, entertaining and SO good for you!
When this game arrived I couldn’t wait to plug the dance mat into my 360 and get started. As a total novice to the dance game genre, I had to start right at the basic training steps (of which there are loads, so you can completely start to grasp some of the stuff you’ll need to play the real game). Once you do a few of these training segments, you’ll start getting the hang of it, although please don’t be tempted to set the difficulty to anything beyond ‘beginner’ if, like me, you were a first-timer. I attempted to dance the steps to “Girls” by the Prodigy on ‘Basic’ before I had spent some time getting to grips with ‘beginner’ and I looked like a prize idiot. The songs in the game are fantastic, with many challenging musical motifs (e.g. weird time signatures, upbeat tempos etc) and the Party and Challenge modes are fabulous. If you’re looking for a game to get friends and/or family involved with and have a laugh (not to mention help you keep fit.. this game has a CALORIE COUNTER!!!) or even if you fancy losing your two left feet and getting your groove on, BUY THIS GAME!

Connect & Cool (AV Centre with Cooling Fans) (Xbox 360)
List Price: ?19.99
Amazon Price: ?19.99

Customer Review: This device DOES work !
I didn’t buy this for its cooling function, but for the AV-outputs. I have my 360 connected to a Sanyo PLV-Z5 projector and a Humax LDE-40A 40″ LCD-TV, optical out going to a JBL DTS/AC3 Surround System. The problem was I always had to change the cables (VGA/Beamer and Component/TV) AND the optical each time. Besides this being a hassle I felt the connectors wearing out, sitting not too firmly anymore. Now I have all cables connected simultaneously and just turn 2 little switches ! VGA working perfectly in 1280×720, component 720p/1080i. No pink screens, no 480p-only - everything works as expected. People facing those problems are doing something wrong I think: You cant switch output while the 360 is running - it checks the connections when booting; pink screens may indicate wrong cable-connections; VGA/component settings on the display-device may bet set wrong … This is a passive device meaning it does NOT have any special circuits, it’s nothing more than a “cable” with 2 switches and more connectors, so theres no reason why this shouldn’t work properly. The fans are working silently, I doubt they’ll help much, though. It may be a good idea to remove them, or connect an external power-supply to them. Im not sure if the extra-load on the AV-out is “good” for the 360. Great product for the AV-Outs !
