Unreal Tournament 3 (PS3)
Purposefully held over to take full advantage of next generation PC graphics cards and the new consoles, this latest sequel in the Unreal Tournament series is looking to set new standards for multiplayer first person shoot `em-ups. Considering developer Epic Games’ Unreal graphics technology is used by so many other companies you always know a new Unreal Tournament game is going to look good. There’s tons of new features beyond just eye candy here though, including a whole new game mode called Warfare, which works like a combination of the existing Assault and Onslaught modes, with more involved mission goals that make team play absolutely essential to success.

As you’d expect there’s a hanger full of new vehicles and weapons including some nifty hoverboards for when you’re just on-foot and a number of new robot mechs for you to drive; all with varying numbers of legs including tripods and four-legged walkers. The enormous Leviathan tank is particularly impressive, with four independently manned turrets and a giant energy weapon.

Considerable work has also gone into providing the game with a decent single player mode, never one of the series’ highlights, with newly improved artificial intelligence that allows you to simulate a multiplayer game properly even when you’re playing on your own. User created modifications (mods) will also continue to play a hugely important part in the game’s success with the game shipping with a new version of the Unreal Editor for both PCs and consoles. After a quiet 2006, it seems like 2007 is going to be the best year ever for PC gamers.

I recently bought this on import (bit mystified why we in the UK have to wait another 3 months) and it’s superb. The graphics are ‘unreal’, truly next-gen. The single player mode is slightly dull but is more of a training mode for each of the multi-player game modes. There’s a huge amount of maps, some of which are specific to each game mode, and some of them are huge. There’s several different types of vehicles all of which can be driven and destroyed… and some massive explosions! In summary a top quality next gen shooter which offers a more sci-fi blast em alternative to the excellent COD4 - well worth buying.

Customer Review: Great accessory
After watching people posting up their videos of Singstar i was hooked so i had to go out and get it. This item is an absolute gem and i hope Sony include it in the future as part of their ps3‘>ps3 packages. I got it on day of release from amazon for a pretty reasonable ?25 or so. The camera captures in 640×480 and is useful in a number of games and other options and also includes a high quality microphone. When you first connect the camera the only fuction which will operate so you will need to use the xmb to activate the microphone function if you wish to use it. I personally have it turned off because if its active and attached it shows up as you having a microphone in games like COD4. There are a number of games availble to purchase from the playstation store. I have the one where you need to rescue the blurps by moving yours hands. The camera on the whole is pretty accurate at picking up movement but can make the odd mistake which can be a little annoying. In games such as singstar it randomly takes shots of you singing and also a 30sec or so clip so you can upload it if you wish which adds to the expierence. At this time of the year its nice to capture films of family making a fool of themselves I havent tried the video call feature yet but that is another use of the camera (6 way video chat). This is well worth getting.

I wasted about 4 hours trying to make sure everything was hooked up right after my new PS3 wasn’t displaying on the screen. I Google’d, Amazon’ed, and PS3Forum’ed for hours. Finally, I thought, “eh try a different cable”. Son of a gun! This cable was the culprit. I knew it was too good to be true. $18.99 for a good -looking, and working, HDMI cable…I think not.

I’ve never used an HDMI cable before so I can’t compare the quality to the more expensive cables out there. However, this HDMI cable works perfectly for its purpose. I was curious about the hype - all the online reviews said your PS3’s true potential will be unleashed using HDMI. The reviews were right, HDMI rocks. Instantly increases visual clarity and sharpness from your PS3 to flat-screen. The audio sounds louder and more crisp as well. DVDs and Blu-Ray are 1000x better as well. Don’t stick with your PS3’s A/V cables… they’re as antiquated as dial-up Internet or rotary phones. HDMI is the only way to go. The difference is comparable to being punched in the eyeballs making everything blurry (A/V cable) to having Lasik surgery and everything being crystal clear (HDMI).

My son loves to draw and he has came up with his own comicstrip character. This software is fun, easy and great for him. At 8 years old, he feels like he is designing a real comic book. The templates, artwork etc is breath taking and so easy to upload and use. I already had the steering wheel and have used it for a few years. The seat really adds to the fun and comfort of playing. My nephew and Girl Friend both could not use the steering wheel before as they could not hold it but now it is no problem. It was easy to assemble and I feel it was a great buy.

This is the basic seat from Playseats and I am very happy with it. I paid $199.00 and shipping was free. Best deal I found. Installation was easy, I was missing one felt pad to protect the floor but I had some similar felt protectors that worked the same. The chair is comfortable, a bit large but I guess it’s made to fit a wide range of shapes. The overall construction is good. Packaging was good as well. I would recommend this to anyone who wants the full experience of video game racing.

Great charger for great price. Only one out there that I found that will charge 8 AA or AAA at a time or 4 C, or D’s. Don’t have to set a switch to tell it what kind of batter it is either. Automatically stops charging when fully charged so don’t have to worry about overcharging. Very convenient.
