Unfortunately, I wouldn’t call the title of this review exaggeration. You’ve heard it across the web, you’ve heard it on Gamespot, and now you’re hearing it here, LAIR is one of the worst games ever made. With a jumpy control scheme, slow load times, a bad storyline and utterly terrible gameplay, it is a true challenge to enjoy this game. Do yourself a favour, and waste your money ona decent game.

Customer Review: Great fun, but damaged by lack of options.
I bought Motorstorm on the UK PS3 launch day, now almost a whole year later, how does it stand? Motostorm (Let’s stick to MS) is an off-road racer, where you can choose to be in several different classes of vehicle, from bikes, buggies, cars and finally trucks, often battling on the same track. Often in the single-player you will be restricted to one particular class, save for the MS events. On the disc there are only 8 tracks, but all of these are in depth with different benefits for different vehicles, sometimes the longer hillside route may be safer for your bike rather than the mud-ridden short route. The races are damingly unfair at times, particularly on the level 4 races where your opponents will not only keep up with you no matter what, but will also crash on purpose and shove you out of the way and smash you into a wall just when the finish line is around the corner, that can get fairly annoying. But the tracks can also change slightly too, especially with mud-covered tracks as it reacts to your vehicles tyres, a sort of detail you can see in Hi-def and is very nice indeed, and so are the rest of the graphics for that matter. The game is very fun, but if you want multiplayer action, online against other players is the only way, no split-screen is offered which is outrageous for a game of this standard and budget. The only other modes available as of now include Time Attack and Elimination (Online only). There have been two other courses released, which add some variety to the game, and other small tibits of downloadable content. Online is the only way to get the maximum out of this game. So in short, MS is great fun for single players and online players, but people wanting to play with their buddies on the same screen should look elsewhere, maybe MS2 can redeem this, and become a classic PS3 racer.

Customer Review: A step in the right direction
As a hardcore PC Gamer for years, and now the proud owner of a PS3, I really struggled with FPS style games. I have years of all the Quake flavours, and Unreal under my belt, and to suddenly be forced to use a joypad to do what comes instincively with keyboard and mouse, was at best nigh on impossible. So I was over the moon when I read about this product, and finally got hold of one. Dissapointing…Yes - It works, but the mouse is of poor quality, and the buttons are badly positioned. But the BIGGEST problem - It is simply not sensitive enough, or rather, not precise enough. You can wind up sensitivity, but then it becomes jerky, and personally it makes me feel a little motion sick. It is better than joypad on games such as Jericho, but nowhere near as good as a proper mouse/keyboard. I hear the next Unreal will support usb mouse/keyboard - Thats the way to go for me - either that, or a much more precise, and solid version of this thing…which I appreciate would be more expensive…But then I spent ?60 on my Laser mouse!

Having been torn about buying this controller by the see-sawing reviews I took the plunge and spent the cash. For an FPS player migrating from a PC it makes life a lot easier and far less frustrating. I’ve used it with CoD4 and Oblivion with good results and a huge improvement in my CoD4 multiplayer enjoyment. The mouse really isn’t as bad as stated in some reviews. Given that this is the only controller of it’s type that I could find, I’m very much of the impression that I’d rather live with a couple of niggles than going back to ’spray and pray’ when playing an FPS.

Formula One Championship Edition (PS3)

In a nutshell:
The most exciting Formula One season for a long time has spawned a console simulation to match with long awaited new online modes and some surprising PSP connectivity options???

The lowdown:
Owning the official FIA license means this game is the only one with all the real 2006 drivers, cars, teams, circuits and rules – but thankfully there’s more to this game than dull simulation. In fact this year’s iteration prides itself on being accessible to everyone with scalable driving aids for every skill level. There’s also a new online version for all versions, where you can compete in a full 18 race season with real human opponents. Other welcome new additions include taking the options of playing as chief engineer through the existing career mode and more subtle change such as computer driven cars that make believable mistakes instead of just robotically keeping to the racing line.

Most exciting moment:
Since the PS2 and PSP versions are coming out at the same time you’re able to transfer data between each, you can even race other players online on the other version, no matter which console they’re playing on.

Since you ask:
Although little is known about the PS3 version of the game so far Sony has demonstrated a way to connect the PSP to it and use the portable console as a fully interactive wing mirror – displaying exactly what is going on behind you in full 3D.

This game is fairly easy to pick up (guidance videos are available with the game), but also requires a lot of thought and strategy to play. It can be quite challenging, and I love the ruleset and how the game works. The use of the camera works very well. It doesn’t seem to make any mistakes when picking up the cards, which then come to life beautifully on the screen. When you first start playing the novelty of how it works is very exciting. The use of real cards also has another great implication in that they can be collected. You can buy new 30 card decks for around ?7 and booster packs consisting of 8 cards for around ?2.50, which i find is quite resonable. The decks also come with a small booklet containing storis and info about the game, and some cards are rarer than other. (I look forward to being able to trade with my mates for cards i don’t have.) This game allows you to either play against the computer, computer vs computer, player vs player in the same room, or online. Online is very easy to use, allowing you to create both public and private games. If set up the mic on top of the camera also allows you to speak to your opponent. The computer is great for practice, but this game is best when being able to play against a human opponent. When i bought this game I was lucky in that most of my friends were also interested in playing it too, allowing me to play them online (which is something i did take into consideration before buying.) Another thing to take into consideration before getting this game is the space required to set it up. This game uses a mat to lay your cards out on. It’s best if you hav a good flat surface in a well lit room. I have a desk lamp placed directly over the top of mine, as i’ve noticed the camera does start struggling to read things when my lights are low. One thing i would have liked in this game would have been a single player campaign type mode. The Playstation eye which comes with this game has also received a lot of use outside of EOJ, as other games also work with it. If you already have a camera, i have seen this game available separately for around ?40 in the shops. Overall I’m very impressed with the game. It’s unique and fun. If you like card games, fantasy, magic, or just something a bit different, chances are you’ll like it too…
Customer Review: Brilliant, original, amazing fun.
This is what owning a PS3 is all about!! I received this game for Christmas day (with Biolith Scourge theme deck and 4 additional booster packs) and since then I’ve hardly stopped playing it, and if I’m not playing it I’m trying to improve my decks. Since getting it I’ve bought a Fire Crusader theme deck and another 5 booster packs which I should take delivery of any day now Once you get over the initial confusion this game really comes into its own. It’s furiously addictive and is a genuinely original and fresh take on the trading card genre. The way the camera reads your cards and generates a 3D creature on screen almost immediately is truly amazing and is a sight to behold. The possibilities of this game are incredible, there’s just so much strategy involved and half the fun of this game is getting to know your cards and building your very own deck, then taking it online to battle against the world for never the same game twice. Graphically the game is fantastic, with loads of cool lighting and magic effects when you place a card on the board and a creature or spell is generated in front of your very eyes. I recommend this game to anyone that’s a fan of trading card games, or anyone that is getting tired of the constant stream or shooters on the market at present. It really is a breath of fresh air and a real treat to find a game that breaks the mould and dares to be different, and it succeeds brilliantly. It’s incredibly deep and involving and requires a great deal of time to master, but once you do it is very rewarding. Get this game. You will not regret it.

This game is defiantly for adults. Good graphics, the music,is cool but is very violent….parents you have been warned!! I would not purchase this for any teenager, but my teenager newphews love this game. I guess it is because they know it has graphic violence, cursing,etc.

The game got old after a while because everytime you get “wasted” you start the story all over again. The good news is you can “save” your spot so to speak and pick up where you left off. You just drive around town, running amok! But even that gets old after a while.

Over all, I give it 3 stars, because they are other games that I like better, NFL football, Socom, Star wars, etc. This game is way overated

I would highly recommend you buy Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories instead of this game.
I have been a huge fan of the entire Grand Theft Auto series on PC, so I figured I should buy it to play on my new PSP as well.
I was highly disappointed.
Luckily, I also grabbed Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories which was a LOT more fun.

In a nutshell:
The most exciting Formula One season for a long time has spawned a console simulation to match with long awaited new online modes and some surprising PSP connectivity options???

The lowdown:
Owning the official FIA license means this game is the only one with all the real 2006 drivers, cars, teams, circuits and rules – but thankfully there’s more to this game than dull simulation. In fact this year’s iteration prides itself on being accessible to everyone with scalable driving aids for every skill level. There’s also a new online version for all versions, where you can compete in a full 18 race season with real human opponents. Other welcome new additions include taking the options of playing as chief engineer through the existing career mode and more subtle change such as computer driven cars that make believable mistakes instead of just robotically keeping to the racing line.

Most exciting moment:
Since the PS2 and PSP versions are coming out at the same time you’re able to transfer data between each, you can even race other players online on the other version, no matter which console they’re playing on.

Since you ask:
Although little is known about the PS3 version of the game so far Sony has demonstrated a way to connect the PSP to it and use the portable console as a fully interactive wing mirror – displaying exactly what is going on behind you in full 3D.

The bottom line:
The PS2 and PSP are in pole position for this welcome racing update.

The one palyer on this game is astonishing. But i thought that this game would allow you to play proper multiplayer. Granted it has online multiplayer however its not as much fun as it would have been with 2-4 players with you. As a 1 player game it is a must buy.
