Hostel Part II [UMD for PSP]
With repulsion levels at least comparable to Cannibal Holocaust, Herschell Gordon Lewis’ Blood Feast, and other gory slasher landmarks, Eli Roth’s Hostel 2 reconfigures ideas of violence to test how down and dirty a horror film can get. The film raises the stakes, leaving those who wish to make a sicker film out in the lurch for the time being. This sequel, like the first Hostel, is set in and around a Slovakian factory where European students are kidnapped, tortured, and killed by rich businessmen who pay enormous sums to experience death firsthand. An international elite, all tattooed with a bulldog insignia, bid on young people to slaughter in a mob-organized, high-end, sex-slave trade catering to those with a death fetish. In Hostel 2, three girls from Rome, Beth (Laura German), Whitney (Bijou Phillips), and Lorna (Heather Matarazzo), are lured to Slovakia by a sultry, vampiric hottie (Vera Jordonova) who modeled for them in figure drawing class. Sidetracked and disoriented by some Pagan Slovakian festivals and luxurious hot springs, the girls slip away one by one, until the film moves inside the torture chambers. One client sits in a bathtub beneath her victim, who she slices with a scythe to bathe in blood, Elizabeth Bathory-style. Body parts fly as clients entering the facilities select their weapons of choice in a room full of knives, power tools, and rubber clothing. As ridiculous as it sounds, haunting soundtrack and cinematography set a disturbing mood. Morbid humor, for example when a chainsaw unplugs centimeters from a victim’s face, pays homage to Hostel 2’s schlocky predecessors. Fortunately, one survivor remains, providing an ounce of vengeful, and sexy, satisfaction. As in the best exploitation films, gratuitous sex and violence are the norm here. What will be a warning to some to avoid this gruesome movie will be to others a cue to head straight to the theater. –Trinie Dalton

Customer Review: Still unimpressed by Roth’ “abilities”
It’s difficult to review something like this without spouting out the boring and cliche “OH MAN I’VE SEEN IT ALL AND YOU CAN’T SHOCK ME, THIS WASN’T GORY”

But in one respect, it’s true: I’ve seen quite a lot in my 23 years, in film and real life, so to disturb me, to make me cringe you have to really search for the right nerve to strike because I don’t think mine are like everyone else’s; the one’s who think Jigsaw is so evil, and blah blah blah.

This wasn’t not a gory film, in it’s context; it’s a mainstream horror movie, so showing a guy get his johnson snipped off is a bit more than the people who flocked to Return of the King are used to seeing.

Nothing in this film made me cringe though, I’ve seen worse as far as genital amputation’s go (Germany’s Cannibal, which is basically disposable trash.) and just like the first in the series the use of music was really, REALLY, obnoxious, and those are one of my nails-on-the-chalkboard cinematic pet peeves; exploitation of the soundtrack to build suspense. The atmosphere was decent, the ambiance almost spot on, but then that stupid Michael Bay-ish music comes in and kills it.

Roth seems to want to make true horror films, ones that don’t entertain but scar most people, but he’s got to realize in order to do something like that, more or less, you have to work away from the system, away from caring about if you get an R or NC-17; but, alas, he can’t seem to come to terms with that. All the films of the past that have really kicked people where it counts have been independent; Last House on the Left & Cannibal Holocaust immediately come to mind, and more recently stuff like Murder-Set-Pieces.

I tried, tried, to enjoy this in, again, the context where it finds itself, but I just couldn’t. I understand, people are evil, and no matter how much they seem to be caring and sweet and like an extra out of High School Musical they can turn into vicious blood thirsty beasts, unworthy of sympathy or compassion; this isn’t Straw Dogs, though, and the message falls flat.

Thus far Roth is 0-3 in my book, so chances are any further efforts will simply be passed over.

At least the Bathory thing was at least semi-cool, but not by much.

2007 is apparently the “year of don’t bother going to the theater” I sincerely hope Eastern Promises, There Will be Blood & No Country for Old Men don’t follow this chain.

Customer Review: Blows the Competion Away
Wow, take about immersive gameplay, if there was ever a game that makes you jump and hide every time you hear the “clink clink” sound of a grenade landing near your position, this is it. This is what the edge of your sofa was made for.

The graphics, smooth, textured and perfectly lit. finally appear to be one worthy of PS3. The sound, especially in surround is fantastic, this title has stopped me trading my PS3 for an XBOX 360, I was about to lose hope.

Quite simply the best looking, best playing, total immersive FPS money can buy.

Cars: Mater-National (PS3)

Customer Review: Great Sequel
After the great success of ‘Disney Pixar Cars’ game last year, comes a sequel for next gen consoles. What’s great about that is it takes (almost) full advantage to the PS3 capabilities letting the player explore Radiator Springs & 2 other locations; Ornament Valley & Tailfin Pass. Now the reason why I said “almost” is the 3 locations are some what short, it’ll probably take less than 20mins to explore the whole area (of 1 location). But still, if you seen the film ‘Cars’, it plays closely to the layouts of the little town, so in other words, you’ve already familiar with the place. The graphics are stunning, everything is like the real world (surroundings and environments) yet kept the magical Pixar quality in the cars. The sound is great, especially the music. Some you’ve already heard if you watched the film or played the 1st ‘Cars’ game, but they also include a few energetic songs making it more a fun experience whilst racing. However when 1 song ends & another starts, that’s when a small glitch occurs. The game pauses just a slight whilst the song is changed, barely a second. The sequel, they introduce a heck alot of different stuff, many mini games, they are the following: - Ramone’s Rhythmic Rumble - which is very similar to dancing games, pressing corresponding buttons at the right time to make Ramone dance. - Tractor Tipping - much like the movie have demonstrated, honk at the tractors and tip them over whilst avoiding Frank. If you’re very good at stealth games, this is a synch for you guys. - Doc & The Law’s Race ‘N Chase - its basically the classic playground game tag, where you’re “it” & you gotta tag the other car & race back to your “home base”. - Fillmore’s Fuel Frenzy - it’s like a normal race, but you got to pick up fuel canisters & not let your gas run out. Its not about who finishes 1st place, its about who would survive the longest (with the amount of laps achieved). - Ghosting Mater - your task here is to scare Mater home, by directing him towards light spots (which boosts his speed temporarily) & not let him come to an halt. Simple? The trick is that the directional button is opposite; left = right & right = left. - Mike & Sulley’s Last Laugh - this mini game lets you use Mike (from ‘Monsters Inc.’) vs. fellow pal Sulley (in ‘Cars’ form) to beat each other in collecting laugh canisters scattered around the place. The best thing about this mini game is how close they manage make everything relevant to ‘Monsters Inc.’, for e.g. there are garage portals which leads you to another section in the area, this is paying to the homage of the closet doorway in the film. Want to play as Sulley? Don’t worry, there’s a race (in actaul fact, there’s 3) where you can use Monster Truck Sulley (only during arcade mode, not story mode). As for the race types, there are 5 types: - Town Race - Stadium Race - Rustbucket Race (racing against rusty cars) - Relay - Monster Truck Race Every game has a bad part, & the bad bit is that Sally the Porsche isn’t in the game…at all. Why is this bad? Well, since Sally is 1 of the most famous characters in last years film, you would expect she will be in it (the only thing that relates to her that’s in the game is her hotel cones). If you played the 1st game, such characters as Chick Hicks, Boost, Wingo & DJ isn’t in the game either. While the likes of the Sheriff & Snot Rod is in the game, but you either see them in cutscenes or during 1 or 2 rare races. With the lack of familiar characters, I guess they make it up for introducing new 1’s with Emma (small English rally car), Otto (German race car), Gudmund (Swedish mud rally car), Koji (Japanese drift car) & Geovanni (Italian Ferrari). So here are the playable characters (outside story mode): - ‘Lightning McQueen’ - ‘Doc Hudson’ - ‘Tow Mater’ - ‘Ramone’ - ‘Flo’ - ‘Luigi’ - ‘Sarge’ - ‘Fillmore’ - ‘Gudmund’ - ‘Geovanni’ - ‘Emma’ - ‘Otto’ - ‘Koji’ - ‘Mike’ (only in Mike & Sulley’s Last Laugh) - ‘Sulley’ (only in Mike & Sulley’s Last Laugh & Monster Truck race) - Monster ‘McQueen’ (only Monster Truck races) - Monster ‘Mater’ (only Monster Truck races) Powersliding in the 1st game proves to be too effective, but in this game proves a bit more harder & seemingly frustrating as you have to press way in advance before the turn. It’s quite hard when you get a left bend then a right bend after another. I think that’s why they introduce the tilt control but it only helps you on sharp bends. All this makes it increasingly hard to perform a 180 degree spin on right aways (which you need during Race n’ Chase mini game). A minor disadvantage is you’re unable to look behind you, actually, you can, but it’s hard & maybe not worth doing. To look behind you, to see how far you’re opponents are, you have to rotate the right analog stick, from top to bottom, sometimes it feels like you’re fighting the camera as it tries to reposition itself to view forward, & sometimes you just lift the camera to a birds eye view of your car. & finally, this isn’t ‘need for speed’ difficulty, so compared to other racing games, it’s pretty darn short in comparison (it took me 4 days to complete the game 100%, & I play it 3hrs a day). But if you take your time on the challenges & explore the area (admiring the view of the landscape), it should keep you pretty occupied for a few more hours. All in all, with these little niggling problems, there’s no reason why this game isn’t as good as the 1st. It really capture the essence of the Pixar quality.

Its unique multi-processing unit design represents a tour de force in parallel processing. The ability to do more of everything at the same time means more enemies, more AI, more explosions, and more realistic gameplay. Amazing gameplay elements such as ragdoll physics and keyframe animation

Customer Review: Very average when you compare it to it’s last model change 60 gig version
ALL backward PS2 Compatibility has been removed NO PS2 games will work.

Media card reader removed.

Hard drive now only 40 gig standard which will be to small when game streaming(like you have on PC now)etc comes into use, the developers can only use the standard built in drive sizes(no matter what size drive you may install yourself later) and 40 gig is a step backwards.

Most USB ports removed now only “Two at the front”(who wants USB ports at the front on a games console?)

No Dual shock games available (dull no feedback fighting and driving games) and no must have titles.

The Xbox 360 Elite 120 gig hard drive is a far better choice of the Two systems ESPECIALLY as its xbox 1 backward compatible and from 4th Dec you will be able to download xbox 1 games, High Definition films etc direct to hard drive, which really removes any reason to own a High definition dvd drive etc.

And the Elite has by far the biggest and best library of games(and they are all use dual shock/forced feedback)….

Customer Review: Average in every way
While not being overly good in any respect, Genji is simultaneously not overly bad in any area either, but the whole thing is still a little unsatisfying. It plays just like it’s predecessor, but with the ‘Kamui’ mode changed and, in my opinion, made a lot worse. It’s a straightforward fighting game with minor exploration elements to it and some decent ideas such as instant switching between characters and weapons on the fly, something all games of this type should offer in future I believe. It’s fun, but not overly so, and one of the characters(Shizuka) is actually rather annoying to play as. The visuals betray this game’s origins as a PS2 game upscaled to PS3 standard, with a fixed camera you can’t change(Did Onimusha Dawn of Dreams teach us nothing?) and some rather uninspired visual detail mixed in with some very pleasing visual effects in places. It looks okay, but not great by any means. Though I will give it that it runs incredibly quickly and smoothly, even with huge numbers of enemies on screen. A very average game that plays way too much like it’s predecessor but somehow isn’t as much fun. It’s worth a look of you can get it on the cheap, but at full price? Avoid.
Customer Review: Genji:Days of the Blade
Having purchased the PS3 only very, very recently i didn’t know what to expect. Genji, i’m happy to say is a game worthy of getting. Although it is inevitably a hack n slash game there are more refined points to it. I believe that Genji mirrors Oblivion in terms of environment as everything is beautifully created. There are unlockables available which i shan’t mention so as not to spoil it for the gamers out there which adds to playability/gameplay. A disappointing point would have to be the combat system. Though moves are again beautifully and gracefully produced, smooth and pretty life like with no jumping or glitching, there seems to be no system. A system that rivals that of maybe Devil May Cry 1 + 3 would push this game up to 5 stars easily. Unfortunately you end up repeating the same combo over and over, though this can be changed with a quick flick of the analog stick either forwards or to the side. This game is challenging, make no mistake and very addictive. There is plenty that goes on in the world of Genji to keep you occupied. Enemies do respawn at many points throughout levels. Though it is a hack n slash game there are times where tactics have to be implemented, down to the best character to do the job, and in particular inflicting damage on the stronger oppponents like the juggernauts. There are many different pickups and the character enhancing system is pretty good. However you can only increase the damage done by the weapons and as far as I can see can’t get new moves. I would say that this game is well worth a go, maybe it’s a better idea to rent it first as there are a fair few gamers out there who wouldn’t like the hack n slash gameplay. Yes it does sometimes seem like a button mashing exercise but there are finer points which can be enjoyed by the most cynical of gamers. Give it a go!

Having bought the PS3 on launch i have had my moments of extreme doubt when i came to its purchase. However with Uncharted and now this, i am in love with the PS3. (And i can use the 5 disc Blade Runner blu ray as its an open region disc)I also have a 360 and love both machines. However the standard of the graphics and photo realistic graphics really make me wonder if the 360 could match it. Everytime i fire this up it amazes me. A solid 60fps, excellent rumble (i imported a dualshock 3 too and it works 100%) and thank the Lord, an in car view option!! Negotiating the mostly Japanese menus is a pain at times but the level of detail especially on the London and Nordwand levels (flowers by the roadside??)is incredible. Watching the replay on an HDTV screen is jaw dropping. Unless you are a car nut and GT fan then wait for the UK release. It really is awesome, and will sate my appetite until the full blown GT 5 appears later this year. Now if i can just work out the best way to a Ferrari 599…..
Customer Review: Review by GT 3 and 4 world record holder (at a few tracks)
Dont comment on a new game unless you’ve played it. GT HD is NOT the same as GT5 prolouge. Ive have all the gt series and have played both the free HD demo and gt5 prolouge, using the df pro wheel and now with the g25 wheel. This prolouge is very good compared to gt3 ( GT4 physics are a joke ) but is too expensive, it is only a taster for gt5 and should be at least half the asking price. Dont listen to anyone saying it feels arcade like, the games physics are a massive improvement on gt4 and a quantum leap over anything the x box has to offer in the driving genre.

FIFA 08 (PS3)

FIFA 08 (PS3)

The greatest battle of the new football season is not between any real world club but between the virtual giants of FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer. Konami’s game has always been the favourite but last year FIFA closed the gap to such a degree that the title race has never been closer. This year’s FIFA uses a completely new game engine, for the first time built specifically for the next gen consoles. But improved graphics and animation are only the half of it, with just as much focus going on the artificial intelligence thanks to the new “35 point decision engine”. What this basically means is that every player on the pitch is fully aware of those around him and constantly thinking about tactics and position when not under your control.

Other changes include better modelled physics for taking a shot on goal, which take into account everything from air pressure to the angle of your foot. You’re also able to create your own special moves to replicate every possible trick from real life. There are also new game modes including Be A Pro which challenges you to play the role of a single player through a whole season or career. On top of this there are revamped online leagues to play a virtual season in the Premier League, Bundesliga, French League or Mexican 1st Division against real opponents. With 620 licensed teams, 30 offline leagues and 15,000 players as well FIFA might just have made enough new signings this year to put it over the top.

Customer Review: Fifa v pro evo
as a pro evolution soccer fan i was disspointed with this years version so i went out and bought fifa.

It isnt as bad as you think, it doesnt seem to be so arcade style football.

still pro evo is better.

Customer Review: it will fool you for a while
well firts of all ive played all the fifa games since 99 for the ps1 and have always played on the hardest difficulty. this is the best but it’s still rubbish. you’ll be fooled for about a week on how great the gameplay is but after a while you just get annoyed. the way the players move is graet but theyve forgotten about everything else. your goalkeeper is still slow to react and ive experienced keepers coming out to head the ball in their box! what is with that. you now have great skills to be used but u have to perform them way before you come to a defender as they’ll just slide tackle you. when you go to slide tackle they just turn around and you end up giving a foul away! also as the difficulty is increased the opponents dont just play better as you’d expect they become freaks. you can hardly tackle them, even though players are given ratings their just thrown out the window as they become amzing at everything. you could play as barcalona against hull city and hulls players would be faster, have quicker reactions, stronger, better goalscorers etc etc. its just unreal. you want them to be a better team like better passing and better quality shots and crosses but its just taking too far! like most sporting games you’ll get bored with it after a month. waste of money. this will be the last sport game i buy! buy call of duty 4!!!

Customer Review: What has Sega done?
This has to be one of the worst games ever for the PS3.A child of 10 will find it boring after about an hour. The controls lack the direct response we have come to expect for modern games, and the so called puzzles needed to pass to progress the story are so easy that I wonder why they are even there. The graphics are very poor and the PS3’s capabilities are totally wasted This is just a game produced to make money on the back of a well advertised film which I have not seen and will not see due to this awful game having put me off. Save your money with this game and buy something decent. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Customer Review: Poor, not worth all the hype
Good graphics all round. What spoils the game is the very poor camera angles, you cant see what the cahracters are looking direclt at, so when jumping onto platforms, you often miss the target, The puzzles to solve the answers on the compass are so difficult to work out, since when was a snake ‘cunning’? Very poor game

Skate (PS3)

Skate (PS3)
Customer Review: This game rocks!
Have to agree with everyone here. This is EASILY the best skateboarding game out bar none.

The controls do take a bit of getting used to if you’re used to button bashing on the Tony Hawks series, but within an hour i was used to it and popping kickflip to 50-50 grinds down stair rails. It feels SO natural.

It does, however, have a few minor flaws.

The camera angle. Sometimes you cannot see where you’re going because the camera is so low, and so close to your skater. Theres no way to change this.

Lag/Gameplay slow down. Every now and again the game will get a little slow. No idea why but it usually sorts it’s self out after a few seconds.

Career mode. Career mode is a little difficult due to the flickit system, some tricks are hard to pull off, meaning you have to try the same challenge over and over and over. Feels good when you finally do nail it though.

Other then that, this is THE best skating game i’ve ever played. 5 out of 5 from me.

Buy it!

Customer Review: The best skateboarding game ever !
Button mashing is over. Skate has completely reinvented skateboarding games by the use of the flickit control system. On tony hawks you would think nothing of trying to leap a gap or grind a rail, but on skate you have to line yourself perfectly then flick the right analogue stick quickly to gain height to ollie and turn your body in the direction to grind down it. This makes the game feel more realistic and add new ways of doing tricks. Instead of going from place to place you have the whole huge city of san vanelona to explore with plenty of areas to skate on which adds to more freedom.

You have to start off by doing skateboarding films to get coverage in the local skate mag to get coverage. You then get asked to skate 4 thrasher which gives you money and sponsership to getting better skateboards, wheels and clothing and eventually leads you to face the pros in the x-games. There are a variety of objectives such as photo coverage, filming, skateboarding races and playing a game of skate which gets u to take it in turns against a pro to beat the at tricks.

This game is so much better than Tony hawks.

Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3)
In the end it will probably be to the benefit of European gamers that the PS3 was delayed, since it will give Sony the chance to put together a much more impressive line-up of launch games than greeted the console in America and Japan. Resistance was easily the best of the U.S. launch games - a first person shoot `em-up from the creators of Ratchet & Clank. The game’s story is based around an alternate version of World War II where instead of Nazis you’re facing off against the insect-like Chimera in a war torn Britain (naturally you’re playing an American though). It’s basically Call Of Duty meets Doom.

The game doesn’t use the tilt sensors of the Sixaxis controller for movement but it does demonstrate the improved build quality of the analogue sticks, which previously made first person shooters difficult on the PS2. The tilt sensors are used in a variety of secondary roles though, such as when you have to shake off a monster or if you get set on fire. Despite the faux WWII setting, most of the game’s weapons are fantastical and, as with Ratchet & Clank, are probably the highlight of the whole game. All have secondary fire modes, from grenade launchers to homing bullets. The armour piercing Auger for example, also doubles as a shield. There are also vehicle based sections, including a particularly fun ride in an almost indestructible tank.

Although the single player game is well above average, the criticism about the sometimes generic art and design are not entirely without foundation. Thankfully this is compensated by an excellent forty person online mode - a huge achievement for a launch game and a very good sign for future online PS3 games.

Customer Review: Amazing!
I love Resistance. The game really has heaps of things to do and os overall a great package. Great AI, great graphics, the real eerie feeling of invasion against the UK by alien beings, loads of action, brilliant level design and excellent enemies. Loved every second of the game and would highly reccomend it to anyone with a PS3.
Customer Review: Different in a bad way.
The first thing that comes into mind when you play this is “call of duty 3″, but then it goes worse by having enemies that can use cover (like GoW) but you’re left kneeling behind cover that is just too short! Another thing that I really HATE about this game is the levels themselves. No objectives and you’r squadmates all die straight away. Brings to mind Halo. Levels also make you go search for the next part of the level, like you just kill a bunch of the aliens and then thats it. You have to wonder around for ACTUALLY 10mins to find the next part of the map. Overall its ok graphics wise but the single player and coop tend to make you sigh in relief at the ability to ask for a refund for the game.

Heavenly Sword (PS3)

In a nutshell:
Amongst all the games that were actually playable on the PS3 at the recent E3 event in Los Angeles this was the most impressive, both in terms of gameplay and graphics. Not only that but it’s a completely original game, not a sequel or a remake.

The lowdown:
Already nicknamed by some as Goddess of War, due to its apparent similarities to PS2 game God of War, the storyline of the game is unclear but it features a typically attractive and super skilled martial arts heroine as she knocks seven bells out of a stream of ninja like bad guys. The various moves look stunning, in particular an eye-watering groin attack aimed at the male enemies (the game features motion capture by Gollum and King Kong actor Andy Serkis). The E3 demo level takes place in a small, and completely destructible, arena but other test footage shows an expansive and impressively realistic looking game world to explore and demolish.

Most exciting moment:
Towards the end of the demo the game segues into a QTE (quick time event) sequence where you have to tap the buttons according to icons flashed onscreen, which sees you performing even more outrageous stunts and attacks.

Since you ask:
Developers Ninja Theory used to be known as Just Add Monsters, under which name they made comedy beat ???em-up Kung Fu Chaos for the Xbox.

The bottom line:
The best looking, and playing, game so far on the PS3.

Customer Review: Instant Classic
O.K. put simply, this game is ‘near’ perfect. Great visuals, scenery is stunning, characters are lifelike, Nariko, the heroine of the game is beautiful, athletic, smart & very strong (character-wise). The story is top notch, the villains are downright cruel & authentic. Gameplay is superb, particularly Nariko’s martial arts fighting skills. I don’t about anybody else but I feel quite omnipotent while playing this game. I felt a real difference when I first aquired the Heavenly Sword. On the negative side its a little on the short side, but acceptable nonetheless. Also when you complete the game & replay a chapter sometimes the lip-sync is a little off, but overall, I’m incredibly impressed. Can’t wait for the TWO sequels. Oh, one more thing, this game was the reason I bought a PlayStation3 in the first place, I was not disappointed.
Customer Review: Celestial, action adventure with stunning graphics
I bought this game with my console, Resistance Fall of Man and Enchanted Arms;this easily outshines those two titles. Heavenly Sword is up there with the best PS3 games. Graphically the game plays like some sort of visual, divine treat. Heavenly Sword benefits from extensive cutscenes that help progress the storyline. The cutscenes look cinematic and are complimented by fine voice acting. The cutscene where Bohan and Shen are preparing their sides for the final battle is particularly stirring, almost Shakespearian in quality providing an apt contrast between Good and Evil. The storyline is well devised with interesting characters; Bohan’s main henchmen General Flying Fox, Roach and Whiptail form a weird and menacing group. Whilst, Nariko and Bohan are two commanding lead characters. Combat is a mainstay of Heavenly Sword and it doesn’t disappoint. Nariko seems to dance around the screen inflicting death and deliverance both effortlessly and gracefully. Nariko utilises 3 modes of combat:Speed, Power and Distance. Each stance has its own combos available for you to master such as the devestating Heavenly Storm. There are also Superstyle attacks that allow you to perform Instant Kills. Furthermore, the Sixaxis controller is used innovatively in order to control the flight of ammunition. This can take a while to master but it’s good fun to control arrows along improbable flight angles, to have them end up jutting out of your opponents head or alternative extremities. I didn’t find Heavenly Sword as easy as has been made out either so I definitely got value for money from this title. The Sixaxis flight control sections are tough and the combos need to be mastered in order to speed progression. Furthermore, as in Residen Evil 4 you have some sort of live action button to contend with, if you’re not quick enough to replicate the correct button on screen, this can result in instantaneous death. As you progress through the game you unlock more combos and Special features such as artwork. Once you complete the game you unlock the Hell Mode option. To conclude, this is an excellent game that is fun to play and great to view for its cinematic quality.

Assassin’s Creed (PS3) It’s easy to see why there was so much fighting amongst the console manufacturers to try and make this game a format exclusive. Where early launch titles may have disappointed this game not only looks like a next generation game but it plays like it too. Taken at face value the story casts you as an Arabic fighter in 1191, out to assassinate the nine Western leaders of the Third Crusade. There is more to the story than that though making it more than simple historical adventure it first seems.

Since it’s developed by many of the same team behind Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, it’s no surprise to find the game using many of the same ideas. With the bold claim that you can climb on or over anything in the game world that sticks out more than two inches, this allows incredible freedom of movement, with a style of acrobatics heavily influenced by Parkour/free running. The game also innovates in terms of combat, with each of the face buttons controlling a different area of the body, rather like a marionette. As such one button controls the feet, one your open hand, one your weapon hand and the other your head.

As an assassin stealth plays an important role in the game too, but here it’s often a case of hiding in plain sight as you mill around inside large crowds of people. Everyone will react to you realistically though, so if you go around pushing people out of the way, or even killing them, the crowd will react and report you. With stunning graphics and genuinely innovative gameplay this is destined to be one of the most important releases of the year.

Customer Review: Over-hyped, but worth playing.
Needless to say this game is very repetitive compared to those of similiar genre. Climb up a view point, complete 2-3 missions and assassinate the target. Yeah, that is the concept of the game. The environment is very beautiful and well-detailed, however, and the world is very interactive. Unfortunately the game loses much of its potential, thanks to Ubisoft’s sloppy plot design.

Moreover, the Xbox 360 version is better. It may have a slightly lower framerate, but there are no vsync issues (screen tearing, whereas PS3 version suffers from this issue, a lot.

If you don’t mind playing the most repetitive game out there for PS3, go ahead and buy it.

Customer Review: Great accessory
After watching people posting up their videos of Singstar i was hooked so i had to go out and get it. This item is an absolute gem and i hope Sony include it in the future as part of their ps3‘>ps3 packages. I got it on day of release from amazon for a pretty reasonable ?25 or so. The camera captures in 640×480 and is useful in a number of games and other options and also includes a high quality microphone. When you first connect the camera the only fuction which will operate so you will need to use the xmb to activate the microphone function if you wish to use it. I personally have it turned off because if its active and attached it shows up as you having a microphone in games like COD4. There are a number of games availble to purchase from the playstation store. I have the one where you need to rescue the blurps by moving yours hands. The camera on the whole is pretty accurate at picking up movement but can make the odd mistake which can be a little annoying. In games such as singstar it randomly takes shots of you singing and also a 30sec or so clip so you can upload it if you wish which adds to the expierence. At this time of the year its nice to capture films of family making a fool of themselves :) I havent tried the video call feature yet but that is another use of the camera (6 way video chat). This is well worth getting.

Sony PS3 weekly U.S. sales double after price cut - Yahoo! News
U.S. sales of Sony Corp's PlayStation 3 (PS3) more than doubled in the weeks following a price cut and the launch of a lower-priced version, the company said on Friday, in a
